Wondering what to buy for Christmas presents? From 27 to 29 November, Three Garden Road, a subsidiary of CHAMPION REIT, will be holding the city's largest outdoor Christmas social enterprise market carnival, 'Christmas Sharelebration! 2025'. In addition to selecting recommended Christmas gifts from local social enterprise brands at the carnival, there will also be food and drink stalls, freshly made smoothies, and innovative experiential workshops, allowing participants to engage in meaningful shopping experiences filled with festive cheer.
Three Garden Road once again partners with the non-profit organization Social Enterprise Institute. This year, a new theme has been added, combining art and inclusiveness to illuminate the bustling Central district with colors and stories. The market will feature a variety of local social enterprise brands, including brand new ones making their debut. At the same time, the first-ever 'Art for Inclusion Community Inclusiveness Art Exhibition' will be held, showcasing artwork created by teenagers with special learning needs (such as hearing impairment, autism, etc.) and ethnic minority students, with the support of nearly 380 tenants participating in Art Jamming to add color to the pieces, embodying the spirit of collaboration between the business sector and the community.
Social Enterprise Recommendations
Among the social enterprises participating in the market this year are many new faces, including Coffee BOATS, a brand new social enterprise established just last May, and Sababu, an art sock specialty store founded by a young man who is still a second-year university student. Christmas is a season of love, and here, you will surely find gifts that cater to your loved ones' tastes while also promoting inclusiveness, empowering the underprivileged, supporting local agriculture, and advocating for environmental protection and waste reduction.
Free Experiential Workshop
During the weekend, the market will host an 'Inclusiveness Art Experience Workshop', where participants will wear earplugs and eye masks to complete a designated artwork within certain restrictions. By altering their physical senses, participants can gain a better understanding of the living conditions of different groups, thereby promoting social inclusiveness and empathy. Members of the public are welcome to join for free.
In addition, a rolling book performance beloved by children will make a return, inspired by Hong Kong's first children's picture book that integrates professional audio-visual description, braille, and tactile elements, titled 'The Invisible Gift'. The performing educators will bring the story to life with vivid acting and stage effects, captivating young audiences with laughter and interaction, fostering a love for reading and showcasing the allure of words interwoven with sensory experiences.
Debut of Art Inclusiveness Exhibition
This Christmas, the first-ever Art for Inclusion Community Inclusiveness Art Exhibition will be held, featuring artworks co-created by 14 teenagers with special learning needs, including hearing impairment and autism, and ethnic minority students, under the guidance of Hong Kong artist Yun-chung Ng and the social enterprise wePaint. Together, they conceived and sketched 12 themed paintings, each measuring approximately 70 x 90 cm, centered around three key themes: 'Inclusiveness Community', 'Sustainable Living', and 'Cross-Cultural Exchange'. These themes present unique aspects and inclusive aspirations of Hong Kong, depicting not only ideal city life but also conveying the younger generation's vision for the future.
Subsequently, Three Garden Road gathered nearly 380 tenants to participate in Art Jamming, interacting with these young artists and collaboratively adding colors to the artworks, symbolizing the collaboration between the business sector and the community. Each painting is equipped with an NFC tag, allowing viewers to listen to the creators share their concepts and creative processes via their mobile phones, enhancing the exhibition experience. All the paintings will be on display at Three Garden Road from November 27 until the end of the year.
10-Meter-Tall Christmas Tree Spreads Cheer in Sign Language
This year's 10-meter-tall Christmas tree at Three Garden Road will hold its lighting ceremony on November 27. Students from Caritas Mother Teresa College, Po Leung Kuk Lam Man Chan English Primary School, and Po Leung Kuk Tammy Yiu Fang Memorial Kindergarten will be invited to deliver festive blessings. Caritas Mother Teresa College has been promoting deaf-hearing integration for many years, and the performing students include both deaf and hearing individuals. This time, with the guidance and training of the social enterprise Y Bridge, the performance will feature elementary and kindergarten students singing Christmas carols accompanied by sign language, showcasing the true spirit of inclusiveness.
